Generators for Fastiv – a joint effort from Trollhättan to Ukraine
In the fall of 2024, the City of Trollhättan signed a twinning agreement with the Ukrainian city of Fastiv. A collaboration that aims to support a city in crisis, but also to create long-term learning in areas such as crisis preparedness and youth inclusion. In connection with the agreement, Fastiv conveyed a clear message: the most urgent need before winter was electricity and heating.
This became the basis for an appeal from the chairman of the municipal board, Peter Eriksson (M), to Trollhättan's business community - an appeal we at AB Sjuntorp chose to act on.
Together with Recas and Argynnis Group We have now carried out a targeted effort to support Fastiv. Through joint funding and coordination, we have sent an emergency transport of generators and spare parts to Ukraine. Equipment that will be of concrete benefit in places where power outages and energy shortages as a result of the war are part of everyday life.
The final destination for the generators is Trollhättan's twin town of Fastiv, but the transport went via Lviv, where two representatives from the city met to receive the delivery.
We are proud to be part of a Trollhättan business community that does not hesitate to act when it is really needed. For us, it is not just about contributing financially, we want to be involved and make a real difference. This type of collaboration shows how much power there is when local companies come together for a common purpose.
Being able to support in a difficult time, and at the same time be part of a larger collaboration with exchange in both directions, is completely in line with our values. Even if everyone can't do everything, together we can always do a little more.
